Taking imaging innovation to the next level, Canon introduces the world’s fastest AF focusing speed of 0.03 seconds* during Live View, featuring the two new additions to Canon’s DSLR family – EOS 77D and EOS 800D. The cameras also boast several other amazing features, including a Dual Pixel CMOS Auto-Focus (DAF), an up to 45-point all cross-type AF, DIGIC 7 image processor, and unrivalled wireless connectivity. At first glance, the two beautifully designed DSLRs look uncannily similar, but on a closer look, these two cameras serve the needs of photographers at different levels. Let’s find out why.
Upgrade your photography skills with EOS 77D; or choose the new EOS 800D, perfect for beginners
More Powerful Technology & Better User Interface
The two new models are equipped with advanced technologies that are used in Canon’s top level DSLRs, including a cutting-edge Dual Pixel CMOS Auto-Focus (DAF), a first for an entry-level DSLR model; a 24.2 megapixel CMOS sensor; a stunning ISO range of 100-25600, which makes shooting in low light conditions easier; up to 45-point all cross-type AF that enables you to cover more focusing areas; and the latest DIGIC 7 image processor, giving you the ability to capture fine details, create beautiful background blur, and produce crisp, clear photos.
Achieve crisper photos with finer details with EOS 77D and EOS 800D

Tilt upward or downward to capture the best angle with EOS 77D and EOS 800D
EOS 77D is equipped with two control dials for you to manipulate and take full control of your shots. The Main Dial is located at the top and the Quick Control Dial on the rear, the latter allowing you to change settings quickly and easily, without having to take your eyes away from the viewfinder. The top LCD display panel, similar to high-end EOS models, offers a display of shoot settings such as shutter speed, aperture value, ISO speed, number of remaining shots, and exposure compensation, all within one glance.
To help beginners who are new to DSLR, EOS 800D’s user interface is made user-friendly. Instead of complicated camera vocabulary, there are simple and informative explanations on screen coupled with photos and graphics to help you understand the various shooting modes and functions. And that is not all, you can now shoot beautiful group photos with the Group Photo mode, which automatically adjusts the shutter speed and ISO to an ideal setting that eliminates camera shake and ensures all subjects are in focus.
Make Better Movies
Combining the advanced CMOS sensor, cutting-edge DAF and an array of the latest EOS movie imaging technologies, users can create vivid and cinematic videos in Full HD at 60p. A new function added to these models, Movie Digital IS^ is an exciting feature that uses an internal gyro sensor to electronically compensate for camera shakes. It is especially useful if the accompanying lens does not have an image stabilisation mechanism. The Time Lapse Movie function with a minimum settable shutter speed of 1/25 allows users to capture a subject changing frame by frame, creating a fluid movement of your subject through a passage of time. The HDR movie function records videos at standard exposure and underexposure, resulting in beautiful outputs with minimal highlight blowouts (overexposed areas).
^Movie digital IS cannot be used with the following lenses.
EF50mm F1.2L USM, EF85mm F1.2L II USM, EF200mm F2L IS USM, EF300mm F2.8L IS II USM, EF400mm F2.8L IS II USM, EF500mm F4L IS II USM, EF600mm F4L IS II USM, EF800mm F5.6L IS USM, EF200-400mm F4L IS USM
The EOS 77D and EOS 800D comes with a new lens kit option - EF-S18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM a compact standard zoom lens that is lightweight and significantly smaller than the rest of its class. Covering semi-wide angle and mid-telephoto angle of view, the lens is great for travel and portrait photography.
Connect and Share Effortlessly
EOS 77D and EOS 800D feature Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity, enabling seamless transfer of photos from the cameras to your smart phone. Coupled with the Canon Camera Connect app, you can control your camera settings such as shutter speed, focus selection, and self-timer from your phone.
With Bluetooth low energy technology in both the cameras, connection between the camera and your phone is maintained at a lower power consumption. With this constant connection, users can view images, and start remote capture from the camera even when the camera is in Auto Power Off mode. Smart devices with Bluetooth can wake the camera up, and switch to Wi-Fi for viewing images or performing remote capture (with Live View).
In addition, the EOS 800D has a dedicated Wi-Fi button which allows for seamless connection to previously connected smart devices.
