I always like to climb to the highest vantage point to capture a sunset while traveling, so on a recent trip, I hiked up to the top of the 15th Century city wall surrounding the historic town of Kotor, Montenegro, nestled in a corner of an inlet in the Adriadic Sea, where I was greeted with a spectacular Montenegrin sunset. Coming from Hong Kong, it’s amazing to find a place like Montenegro which is so full of natural beauty, yet so empty of people. The evening was truly surreal - something I always hope to experience while traveling. When I captured this image, there were only 4 or 5 other people in sight, all photography lovers. Although we shared no common language, we each marveled at the way our companions captured the spectacular view, and we instantly understand one another through our art. I used my Canon 5D Mark iii with a 24-70mm L USM Lens to capture 3 shots at 24mm f/2.8 at exposures of -2, 0 and +2 which I stacked to achieve this image.
