Background blur that makes the subject stand out; hidden moments that light up the darkness; split-seconds that reveal a thousand words; photography will open your eyes and mind to a new way of seeing, even without the lens.

User-friendly yet with the full functionalities of a camera, the EOS 800D belongs to a long line of entry-level cameras that have been a favourite for enthusiasts who crave that something more – the explorers and wanderers among us, ready to step into life.

EOS 800D, f/4, 70mm, 1/640, ISO 200.

Starting out in photography can be very intimidating. All the settings on the LCD screen may seem like Greek but the basics are actually quite simple!

The new “guided” mode created specially to help beginners through the complicated numbers, makes it easy to master settings. The intuitive picture-based interface shows the user how to achieve different effects, like background blur or fast shutters. What better way to learn than through practice?

It doesn’t take a photographer to know that candid moments can happen in a blink of an eye. Start shooting with the EOS 800D and you’ll quickly notice how snappy the camera is. Thanks to the Dual Pixel CMOS AF, this entry-level camera has the World’s Fastest AF speed of up to 0.03s*^ in Live View. In addition, with a frame rate of approx. 6 frames per sec and 45 all cross-type focus points, nothing slips past this nifty device.

EOS 800D, EF 50mm f/1.8 II, 50mm, f/1.8, 1/100, ISO 1600.

Photography at night is where the EOS 800D really shines above simpler devices. Noise control allows shooting within ISO 100 and 25600 (expandable to 51200), so whether you’re capturing a birthday party or a portrait at night, you’ll be able to shoot at faster shutter speeds for sharp images free of motion blur.

Another secret must-have is the EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens that gives you bokehlicious images with its maximum aperture of f/1.8.

EOS 800D, EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, 24mm, f/4, 1/400, ISO 400.

In 2017, we’d expect most cameras to have instant connectivity. Most of us know that the Wi-Fi / NFC (and now new Bluetooth low energy technology) allows you to connect to your smart device for wireless file sharing, but few know about the remote shooting function on the Camera Connect App.

This feature is really useful if you’re flying solo or just need an extra hand. Simply connect to your device and control the camera from a distance for the perfect self-portrait. Shoot, review and upload on the go with ease.

2-3hrs, 7s interval, Av Mode, Exposure per frame

If you’re up for more photography techniques, #SayYesTo the in-camera time-lapse function, which was previously only available in higher-end cameras. Switch to video mode, choose your settings and capture the passage of time for hours without any external devices.

Photography is about trying new things and creating new experiences; Capture those moments that you’ve never noticed before. It’s about saying yes to life’s little moments before they slip by, and challenging yourself to constantly improve.

Are you ready to begin this journey? #SayYesTo photography with the EOS 800D
