9 Emperor God Celebration is a religious celebration that happens during last day of the eighth lunar month to the ninth day of the ninth lunar in asia. This is widely celebrated in countries like Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. There is a lot of actions, motions and emotions coupled with interesting lighting during the celebration. It is a joy to capture photos during the celebration. Always love the use of Canon R6 series for shooting such event. The accurate auto-focus in low light and low contrast scenario of Canon R6 series camera are best demonstrated during such event. Shooting at ultra high ISO ( as much as ISO 25.6) is possible without losing details so long as you applied correct techniques like correct meting, exposure to the right ( ETTR) and other techniques. I will share more in the future First photo was the invitation of 9 Emperor God from water. It was taken at ISO 25.6k amidst the rush of folks running out from water with RF24-105mm. Second photo was the lifting of 9 Emperor carriage in celebration. Third photo is the fast motion of carriage during ritual of greeting in the celebration. RF14-35mm exceled with its fast focus and beautiful output. Fourth photo was a mood shot taken of one of the devotee doing his prayers on the beach before the God sentoff. It was utra-low light and strong backlight. It was truly amazing to see the result from RF70-200F2.8 L Finally, last photo is the sending of 9 emperor God into the sea on the last day of celebration.
