This series is from my journey to Spiti Valley, high up on the Indian Himalayas. .... No 1. This is Key Monastery, the biggest and most important Buddhist monastery in the whole region. I waited till the approaching shadow was about to touch the base of the monastery. I wanted to show the monastery symbolically as the beacon of light in the approaching darkness. .... No. 2 and 3. This giant Buddha statue is at the village of Langza in Spiti Valley. Across the Indian Himalayas, there’s an initiative to build giant Buddha statues to attract visitors and also to show the importance of Buddhism in this region.
