Macro adventure @ Kranji Marshes

Dear friends, recently a friend of mine said when I asked him if he's keen on shooting insect macro photography - he replied: "I don't have the patience". Although I have been shooting macros for some time now, I never really thought about the challenges of each photography genre. On reflection, nature macro photography indeed requires you to be patient, loads of it. Weather, wind, ambience lighting, subject, etc, all conspire either to make or break your macrophotography endeavour. If you have the right gears and mindset, loves nature and like to look for the beauty in little things, then macro photography might just be your cup of tea (or coffee). Like to share a few pics that I managed to shoot during an especially challenging late windy afternoon a few days back. Over 2.5 hours of pixels adventure, I only managed to acquire just a few pics that I like. But it was a lovely session all the same. The fun is in the journey, not the destination. Camera - Canon EOS 5DmkIV Lens - Canon EF100mm F2.8 USM macro Flashlight - Canon 580EXII (in custom diffuser)
