The Hesaraghatta Grassland gets filled with water during the rainy months, but during winter and summer, it is a cool and calm place and many beautiful birds like raptors, and other variety of birds are spotted. During my pervious visit, I got to take a set of pictures of Brahminy kites and Black kites wresting with each other. It was interesting to watch these birds soar above the lake trying to catch fish and frogs. I sat there for hours together trying to photograph these raptors hunt. Finally, during sunset, I saw a grey heron trying to chase the raptors (sadly I couldn't capture a clear image of the act). Initially I didn't realize that one of kites had caught a fish and the rest were trying to snatch it. The fish slipped out of the kites claw and it was then that this picture was captured.
