The PowerShot SX60 HS is a digital camera that boasts a lens equipped with a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor as well as an effective pixel count of approximately 16.1 megapixels. Released at the end of this September, the Canon PowerShot SX60 HS is the world’s first digital camera equipped with a lens that features 65x optical zoom. The focal length is equivalent to 21-mm at the wide-angle end and 1,365 mm at the telephoto end (with a 35-mm equivalent focal length for both). The camera boasts an unprecedented focal length range in terms of the angle of view that can be covered by a single lens.
At first sight, it might look exactly the same as an entry model DSLR fitted with a standard zoom lens. The depth of the grip makes the camera easy to hold and brings to mind the grip of a DSLR.
The image sensor is a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with an effective pixel count of 16.1 megapixels. RAW images can also be recorded.
The maximum ISO speed is ISO3200.

It also comes equipped with a 3-inch, 0.922 megadot vari-angle LCD screen.
There is also an EVF function that comes in handy for telephoto shots with a resolution of approximately 0.922 megadots.
An electronic dial is also installed between the shutter button and the mode dial. The button with the S mark is a Shortcut button.
There is a one-touch smartphone button on the lower left of the 4 directional buttons that allows for the use of Wi-Fi connectivity.
A NB-10L battery is used. The number of shots that can be taken with this battery is about 340. The SD card slot is compatible with UHS-I.

The camera is also fitted with a hot-shoe allowing for Canon Speedlite Flashes for use with EOS cameras to be used.

Interface panel. Starting from the top is the remote control terminal, A/V OUT, DIGITAL terminal and HDMI terminal.
The camera also comes with a microphone input terminal.
Strap mount
Video recording in full HD is supported. Recording can also be carried out at 60 fps.
Located at the top is the Framing Assist - Seek button while the Framing Assist - Lock button is located at the bottom. These are new functions that allows the subject to be found easily by temporarily widening the angle of view.

The display range can be selected from 3 steps.
An Auto Zoom function. It automatically adjusts to maintain the size of any faces detected in the frame. This can be useful in taking photos of children etc.
