Wide-angle prime lens with IS function
This wide-angle prime lens comes with the IS function and boasts high image quality. Not only is it compatible with all full-frame EOS models, it can also be attached to APS-C models to obtain an angle of view equivalent to about 45mm in the 35mm format which is similar to that of a standard prime lens. Also, highly expressive close-up shots can be produced with the short focusing distance and a maximum magnification of 0.2x. To top it off, the powerful IS effect allows the lens to perform well under low- light conditions.

I took this shot with the aperture set at f/8, where the resolving power is the highest. The stone slabs on the roof and the details of the sculptures were sharply reproduced. The minimal amount of distortion in the subject and the high resolution power made this depiction one that is characteristic of a prime lens.

In this example, I selected a bright aperture setting, and moved close to the subject to create background blur. As expected of a prime lens, the bokeh effect is smooth and soft.
