Photo Clinic 2012: Hungary by Duc Thai
An-all expense paid trip to a photogenic location, the Canon Photo Clinic is undoubtedly any photographer’s dream. This year, 19 out of 22,180 participants will be packing their bags for the land of the rising sun to see, shoot and experience all that Japan has to offer.

The grand prize for the regional Canon Photomarathon, this year’s trip will bring participants from 10 countries together on an 8-day long visual journey across Japan. The grand winner from each Photomarathon event make up the group, and these talented individuals will have the privilege of learning from an experienced photographer and each other as they explore the different prefectures and cities. It’s an incredible opportunity, and it’s no wonder the marathon sees more and more participants every year.

Now in it’s 9th year running, the Photo Clinic has taken photographers to scenic locales around the world, including exotic places like Tasmania, Turkey and Hungary. The last Photo Clinic was also held in Japan, with esteemed photographer Herbie Yamaguchi serving as mentor. This year, renown artist and photographer Goto Aki will be lending the group his expertise.

The Photomarathon has picked up significant momentum since it was first launched in 2007, with more countries expressing interest in organizing the contests locally, and we look forward to welcoming the Philippines and Australia in the years to come.
