As part of the launch of the new EOS 5D Mark IV, Michael Ori and Joey Jonaitis of Ori Media from Salt Lake City, Utah, USA embarked on a seminar tour to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Philippines, South Korea and China. The seminar tour was a platform for both photography professionals and enthusiasts alike in the respective countries to learn and try out the new features of the EOS 5D Mark IV.
During the tour, Michael and Joey performed live demonstrations of their videography and photography workflow, allowing participants to pick up valuable tips on how to tap on the latest features of the EOS 5D Mark IV to improve their workflow. To demonstrate the capabilities of the new camera, Ori Media made a short film on Manila shot entirely on the EOS 5D Mark IV, producing excellent video footage despite rainy conditions.
Jijo De Guzman, Sports Photographer and Canon Philippines Crusader of Light, was impressed by how the EOS 5D Mark IV renders images with a beautiful grain even when shooting under dark or uneven lighting conditions, situations which he often face in his line of work. Michael Ori, a filmmaker by training, appreciated the EOS 5D Mark IV's ability to pull high-resolution JPEG stills from the 4K video footage, both internally from the camera and externally from editing software.
The EOS 5D Mark IV makes it so easy, whether it's raining outside, we're switching from photo to video. Whether it's dark or bright, that's always a setting that's a perfect tool for the job that's in the EOS 5D Mark IV, said Joey Jonaitis, Digital Imaging Technician (DIT), Ori Media.
Vietnamese fashion photographer, Nguyen Hai Dong, explained that he had a positive experience with the EOS 5D Mark IV and was impressed by the cameras image quality and high speed burst rate, compared to its predecessor, the EOS 5D Mk III.
Prior to the launch of the new EOS 5D Mark IV, Michael Ori's main workhorse cameras were the EOS-1D X Mark II and the EOS-1D C. "The EOS 5D Mark IV will be out main line-up camera for everything - the 30MP stills, 4K video and the WiFi connectivity makes it a powerhouse of a camera"
David Soong, Wedding Photographer, AXIOO Photography, explained,"The number one feature that I really appreciate on the EOS 5D Mark IV has to be the Wi-Fi capability. That way, in our line of work, the marketing goes to the client, the bridesmaids and the people during the party. We can share our images to whoever's involved in the wedding day and that is huge. The faster auto focus is what we really need in dim situations and fast moments"
