On 15 September 2016, Canon launched the EF-M18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM– the first high-magnification zoom lens in the EF-M series of interchangeable lenses for the EOS M series of mirrorless cameras. (Reported by: Koji Orimoto (Digital Camera Watch))

Lens designed for EOS M series provides wide range of shooting possibilities, from quick snapshots to all-out telephoto shots

Canon launched the EF-M18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM, an interchangeable lens for the EOS M series of mirrorless cameras.

The lens is available in two colours, graphite and silver.

Being the first high-magnification zoom lens in the EF-M series of lenses for EOS M-series cameras, this 8x zoom lens covers a 35mm-equivalent range from 29mm to 240mm.

By CIPA standards, the image stabilization effect is 4 shutter speed stops (at a focal length of 150mm, 35mm-equivalent 240mm). When mounted on the EOS M5, launched on the same date, the Combination IS function which supports panning can be used.

Two aspherical lens elements and one UD lens element are included in the lens construction comprising 17 elements in 13 groups.

At the wide-angle end, this lens has a minimum focusing distance of 0.25m and maximum magnification of 0.1x; at the telephoto end, it has a minimum focusing distance of 0.45m and maximum magnification of 0.31x. It comes with a 7-blade aperture and has a filter size of 55mm in diameter.

The lens has dimensions of approximately 60.9mm x 86.5mm (maximum outer diameter x length) and weighs approximately 300g.
