A field of wheat starting to change in colour, swaying in the wind with summer clouds in the background. This is a scene that comes to mind for many people when they hear the word “summer”. And while it might seem easy to capture such a scene, such conditions often do not occur in a single summer.

 

Handles any scene, be it in the morning, noon or night

The EOS 5D Mark IV has an approximately 30.4 megapixel sensor, which seems a little on the low side when compared to its 50.6-megapixel cousins, the EOS 5DS and EOS 5DS R. So, why did Canon choose to go with a 30.4 megapixel sensor?

The answer to that became clear as I progressed with my shoot. The 5D series was intended to be used in a wide range of situations, whether it be day or night, indoors or outdoors. This calls for a camera that is an excellent all-rounder. Rather than having any aspect that stands out, what is needed is an overall high image quality. And whether in terms of the resolution or the ISO speed characteristics, the improved pixel count lets you achieve less noise and richer tones. This, along with the sufficiently refined sensor, and in combination with the latest image processing technology certainly lets you feel that the camera has been taken to a whole new level in every way.

This mountain is famous for being the earliest place you can view the autumn leaves in Japan. I really love this place, where the mix of red and yellow makes for quite a fascinating, splendid sight.

I aimed at the Milky Way above a vast field of sunflowers to depict an image of flowers gazing up at the starry sky. It was dark, but I could almost imagine the sunflowers whispering to each other in lively conversation.

An evening shower that came just before sunset. While the rain was falling heavily, the orange sunset created a double rainbow. The rainbow that appears on such days shines as if it is radiating the light itself.
