Harness the possibilities of cropless 8K, with In-Body IS and Dual Pixel CMOS AF II in all 4K/8K modes ensuring that footage looks seamless and in-focus even with 8K of detail. Record internally in 12-bit 8K 30p RAW recording, Canon Log, or HDR PQ, or externally up to 4K 60p depending on how you want to take your footage to the limits.

Image Stabilisation

The sensor-shift-based In-Body Image Stabilizer (In-Body IS) on the EOS R5 corrects camera shake along 5 axes of camera movement (horizontal, vertical, yaw, pitch, roll), allowing users to capture sharper images by hand, even with a slower shutter speed. When paired with an RF lens equipped with the Optical Image Stabilizer (Optical IS), the two IS systems work in synchrony to achieve an even greater stabilisation effect, up to 8 stops’ faster. Image stabilisation also applies when using EF or RF lenses that do not have Optical IS.

The benefits of In-Body IS applies even during handheld movie shooting, where In-Body IS, Optical IS and the movie digital IS coordinate to reduce blurring and unsteady footage, even when shooting while walking.

8K cropless movies means 8K worth of detail, recorded using the entire width of the sensor. Not only does this mean highly-detailed footage that is more realistic than ever, it also increases possibilities during editing, such as obtaining closer crops without losing any resolution even when you deliver in 4K.

Additional information on heat management:
• At 8K (RAW, DCI, UHD) video resolution, the maximum recording duration before the camera overheats is 20 minutes
• At 4K 60fps (DCI, UHD) video resolution, the maximum recording duration before the camera overheats is 35 minutes

The EOS R5 is the first Canon camera equipped with built-in 5GHz* (802.11ac) wireless LAN, which enables stable, high-speed data communication so you can take better advantage of services like EOS Utility, Camera Connect and the cloud-based image.canon service. FTP and FTPS functions are supported as well.
