Kicking off my mountain photographic journey, "Ascent," me and my partner went off to our first mountain climb in Mt. Anggas, located between Gitagum and Libertad border in Misamis Oriental, Philippines. The climb was very tough as we were exposed to sunlight to most parts of the trail due to unavailability of trees that could provide us as shelters. However, the view was amazing as it is exhilarating to take tons of shots. We traversed as Mt. Peace as our starting point all the way to Anggas summit by morning as our complete ascent point. We pitched a tent in the Peace's summit and stayed for the night. The 360-view was absolutely stunning and I take a hundred shots from the hues and shades radiated by the sunlight through the grassland terrain and corners of mountain ridges, from sunset views to chasing sunrises in the morning, and extraordinary vista of the mountains. Mt. Anggas is commonly known as, "Mineral Mountain" by locals due to its abundance of mineral deposits and geological composition which makes trees difficult to thrive. But the local government are taking action into planting more trees in this sunlight-exposed mountain. To this day, Mt. Anggas are a major attraction to most of mountain climbers from near and afar. The mountain offers 360-view from which you can see both sunrise and sunset.
