Fast prime lens ideal for portraits and street photography
Characterized by a bright maximum aperture, this wide-angle prime lens has an angle of view that is equivalent to about 56mm in the 35mm format. With a circular aperture that becomes almost a perfect circle when the aperture is stopped down, as well as a large bokeh effect created by the bright f/2 aperture, this lens is an ideal choice for portraits and street photography. The EF35mm f/2 IS USM performs well under low-light conditions, thanks to the IS function with a correction effect equivalent to about four shutter-speed stops. Also, the bright maximum aperture produces a bright viewfinder image, which makes it easy to check the composition and perform manual focusing at a dimly-lit location.
