Introducing the New Canon PowerShot SX620 HS - Compact with 25x Optical Zoom

Canon has just announced its latest digital compact camera, the PowerShot SX620 HS, which boasts of a 25x zoom lens with a focal length that starts from 25mm at the wide angle end.
The next in the series lineup after the PowerShot SX610 HS, the PowerShot SX620 HS retains the 35mm film equivalent focal length of 25mm at the wide angle end, but boasts of a longer telephoto focal length of 625mm (450mm on the older model). Optical zoom has also been increased to 25x (18x on the PowerShot SX610 HS). Size-wise, it is 8.4mm slimmer and 4.1mm shorter than the older model, and is also purported to be lighter.
Other than the differences in optical zoom and external dimensions, the PowerShot SX620 HS retains the key specifications of the PowerShot SX610 HS, such as the 1/ 2.3-inch type CMOS image sensor with 20.2 effective megapixels, the DIGIC 4+ imaging processor and the LCD monitor with approximately 922,000 dots of effective pixels.
The PowerShot SX620 HS comes with features such as 4-axis image stabilization during movie shooting, support for Full HD movie recording at 30 fps, and Wi-Fi/NFC connectivity for easy connection to smart devices—ideal for carrying out remote control operations with a smart phone as well as for sharing photos on social media. It is available in 3 body colours, black, red and white.
