Mud-spitting Mudskipper @ Sungei Buloh

Dear friends, do you like to watch NatGeo or Discovery Channel nature documentaries? Capturing footage of wildlife at a certain moment can be really challenging, takes much effort and patience. I recently fulfilled one of my nature bucket lists to capture - a Mudskipper spitting out mud at its burrow. Mudskippers are among the few marine creatures that thrive on Singapore's mudflats. Their amusing antics are a delight to observe and photograph. Mudskippers dig their burrows by scooping out the mud with their mouth, creating a surrounding wall for protection as they spit out. I finally managed to capture the moment after many trips as the tidal condition at the mudflats must be right, with ideal lighting, subject angle, and right camera gears. Are you fascinated by any aspects of nature in our island nature reserves? Do make a bucket list and enjoy nature on a more intimate level. Viva La Nature! Pic data - 1/1250s - 1/600, F4.5, ISO1000-2500. Gears - Lens: Canon EF600mm F4L IS MK1. Camera: Canon EOS 5DmkIV.
