Its underparts are typically a rich, reddish-brown or cinnamon color. The head and neck are also brownish, with a subtle iridescent sheen. The tail is long and pointed.They are commonly found in dense forests, particularly in areas with thick underbrush, as they prefer to stay close to the ground.They feed on a variety of seeds, fruits, and berries. Emerald Doves is a State Bird of Tamilnadu.
