"Motion in still" photography - this genre of photography, other than long exposure pics, is particularly well conveyed in panning pics. Handphone (using manual mode) can be used but its the proper camera (like a DSLR) that will deliver the best pic quality and shooting experience. Singapore MRT does not have a wide variety of trains models nor the likes of Shinkansen, which would have make photographing the trains much more exciting. But in life, we make the best of situation, ya? Panned pics looked deceptively easy but conveying motion while still retaining clarity of number / logo on the train will require the right settings and techniques. As you use shutter speed below 1/8-1/15s...subject movement blur creeps in, other than camera shake.
