With the year drawing to a close, it’s a good time to take stock of the photos you’ve captured. Breathe new life into your favourite memories by getting them off memory cards or hard drives and print them with the Canon SELPHY CP1300. And with the festive season upon us, add a joyous touch to your photos to create new memories and the perfect Christmas card!

Sleigh It with Love

EOS M50, EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens, f/5.6, 55mm, 1/8sec, ISO400

There’s something magical about this time of the year. So why not print out your favourite couple photos and transform them into something more memorable? Add Christmas touches such as a miniature sleigh, trees, and gift boxes, and use cotton balls for a snowy effect. Complete the look with fairy lights in the background to achieve beautiful bokeh against your subject.

Selfie with Mr Snowman

EOS M50, EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens, f/5.6, 55mm, 1/10sec, ISO400

Wish you were celebrating the festive season in a winter wonderland? Now you can, with this playful twist on a Christmas snow globe! Print your favourite family portrait and incorporate it with festive elements such as a mini snowman and tiny Christmas trees within a dome. No snow where you are? No problem. Create your own snow by piling up coarse/fine sugar and shine light on the ‘snow’ so that it looks more realistic. Finally, tie fairy lights around the dome to add a dreamy, festive glow to your photo.

Find out how a little creativity goes a long way with Repurpose Your Christmas Objects for Photoshoot.

Home for the Holidays

Create a different perspective to your festive memories by using framing. Surround your family portrait with festive decorations such as a mini wooden house, trees and ‘snow’, then shoot through a mini Christmas wreath. Don’t forget to ensure your subject is well lit by shining light on it from above.

Learn how framing adds depth and dimension to your photos with How to Frame Your Photos.

Printing Made Fun

Compact and portable, the Canon SELPHY CP1300 (180.6 x 135.9 x 63.3mm) has made printing photos effortless. Simply insert your memory card in the USB card slot, select the photos you’d like to print, then press “print”. Or print wirelessly from your mobile device via Wi-Fi function as you relive your favourite memories.
