50 Megapixels Finally Exceeded Well-equipped Full-frame SLRs
The following is a visual review of the "EOS 5DS" and "EOS 5DS R". Both models are new members of the "EOS 5" family, and are equipped with a 35mm full-frame sensor. They are characterised by the use of a CMOS sensor with an effective pixel count of about 50.6 megapixels, a significantly higher spec compared to their predecessor, the "EOS 5D Mark III". With this advancement, bold cropping is made possible, and new shooting techniques can also be expected.
The difference between the EOS 5DS and the 5DS R is that the former is installed with an optical low-pass filter (LPF), while the low-pass filter effect is cancelled on the latter. Both cameras take on almost the same appearance, with the logo plate being the only discernible difference.
Both models also have similar controls as the EOS 5D Mark III, such as the button layout and menus, so users who have upgraded from the EOS 5D Mark III should not have any difficulty getting used to their operation.
